Section
4507.08 (D) (S)
of the Ohio Revised Code
A driver
is processed through the PDPS (Problem Drivers Pointer System) formerly through the
NDR (National Driver Registry) or in the case of an application for a CDL license,
through CDLIS (Commercial Driver License Information System) if:
Driver
is requesting a "First" Ohio driver license and is over 18 years of age.
An Ohio
driver that is required to be re-tested due to suspension reinstatement requirements or
cancellation of license.
A
licensed driver from another state and applying for an Ohio license.
Cause:
Applying for an Ohio driver license while under suspension in another state.
Length
of Suspension: Indefinite.
Reinstatement
Requirement: Driver must present a clearance letter from the Bureau or Department of
Motor Vehicles in the state(s) in which he/she is suspended or PDPS indicates an ELIGIBLE
status.

Additionally, a $30.00 reinstatement fee will be
required (if the suspension notice was mailed on or after 10/01/97).
