Scooters Banned in El Mirage

(CBS 5 NEWS) - You can forget about riding those motorized scooters on public property in El Mirage.

The City Council not only banned the scooters, but also passed an ordinance making it illegal for anyone to sell the scooters without disclosing the city's new law to buyers.

If you want to ride them on private property you have to get the owner's written permission.

The ordinance takes effect April 11.

Phoenix banned the scooters in December.

Glendale and Scottsdale are also looking at banning them.
