These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state’s vehicle titling and registration process.

Registration and Title Bulletin #056-05

Date: May 25, 2005
To: All County Tax Assessor-Collectors
Category: General Information
Subject: Texas Transportation Corridor (TTC) – Myth vs. Reality
Attachment 1

PURPOSE
To address the TTC misconceptions resulting from ongoing public planning meetings.

DETAILS
Plans call for the TTC to be completed in phases over the next 50 years with routes prioritized according to Texas’ transportation needs. Through statewide feedback gathered early in 2004, Texans said a route roughly paralleling I-35 is needed. The Texas Department of Transportation produced Myth vs. Reality because of concerns voiced in recent public TTC-35 meetings. Myth vs. Reality will be updated periodically to address future concerns, and is being added to the www.keeptexasmoving.com Web site.

Aligned with existing highways, railways and utility corridors, the TTC will speed up the movement of goods and services by providing: 1) additional driving lanes, 2) options for different modes of travel including rail, and 3) routes that separate long distance and local traffic.

COUNTY ACTION
