PURPOSE
To provide information on the new digital United We Stand specialty license plate.

DETAILS

• The 78th Texas Legislature authorized a new specialty license plate, United We Stand.
• This new digital specialty license plate is available for passenger cars and light trucks for a $30 annual fee, plus $40 if personalized, in addition to regular vehicle registration fees.
• The department shall deposit $22 of the $30 application fee to the credit of the general revenue fund. Money in the account will be used by the Texas Mobility Fund. Of each fee received, the department shall use $8 to defray its administrative costs. The department shall credit 50 cents from its administrative costs to the county in which the owner resides.
• Form VTR-999 may be used when applying for the United We Stand specialty license plate.
• Attached is a photocopy of the new United We Stand specialty license plate, and a shell news release that may be customized and sent to local media.
• The United We Stand specialty license plate may be viewed, and applications downloaded, by going to the Texas Department of Transportation’s Web site at www.dot.state.tx.us.
