Registration and Title Bulletin #040-05

Date: April 21, 2005
To: All County Tax Assessor-Collectors
Category: Specialty Plates
Subject: Organ Donor and Blood Donor License Plates – "National Donate Life Month"
Attachment 1 | Attachment 2

PURPOSE
To provide you with a news release and information about the "Be an Organ Donor" and "Be a Blood Donor" license plates.

DETAILS
April is "National Donate Life Month." Governor Rick Perry has asked state agencies to support and promote organ and tissue donation. During April, we are highlighting the "Be an Organ Donor" and "Be a Blood Donor" license plates. These plates are available for passenger cars and light trucks for a $30 annual fee, plus $40 if personalized, in addition to regular vehicle registration fees. A portion of the funds raised from the "Be an Organ Donor" plate are credited to the general revenue fund. A portion of the funds raised from the "Be a Blood Donor" plate are deposited to the credit of the blood donor account.
