PURPOSE
To advise you that the Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty license plate has
been redesigned.
DETAILS
The Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty license plate has been redesigned to
include the following changes:
- The new Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty license plate is limited
to five characters
- The date "December 7, 1941" is in blue
- The phrase "Pearl Harbor Survivor," located on the left side of
the plate, is shown in white above "USS Arizona Memorial" which is in
light blue
- A design of the memorial completed in white and outlined in black
is depicted below the phrase "USS Arizona Memorial"
Attached is a photocopy of the newly designed Pearl Harbor Survivor
specialty license plate and a shell news release that may be customized
and sent to local media. The original Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty
license plate is still valid and will be replaced at the request of a
customer.
All new applicants will receive the newly designed Pearl Harbor
Survivor specialty license plate.
FIRST SET:
The following information regards replacing the Old Pearl Harbor
specialty license plate with the redesigned specialty license plate:
- In order to replace the currently issued Pearl Harbor Survivor
specialty license plate with the new design, a request is required to
be submitted to the Special Plates Branch along with the $5.30
replacement fee.
- The customer is required to include their current license plate
number in the request.
- Since the new Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty license plate is now
limited to five characters, the customer will be issued a new Pearl
Harbor Survivor specialty license plate with new numbers. A new plate
will be made and mailed directly to the customer.
For additional sets of replacement Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty
license plates, the customer should follow the same procedures as with
the first set.
The Pearl Harbor Survivor specialty license plate may be viewed, and
applications downloaded, by going to the Texas Department of
Transportation’s Internet site at www.dot.state.tx.us.
