Recent Production Slowdowns |
PURPOSE
To explain the reason for recent system slowdowns and steps that are
being taken to resolve the problems.
DETAILS
Murphy’s Law is defined as whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and that
has certainly seemed to be the case with RTS processing over the last
several weeks. As you are probably well aware, counties have experienced
statewide system slowdowns over the past three Fridays. Each of these
appear to have resulted from different problems. However, the net result
appears the same to the system users – slow processing. VTR has made
this issue a high priority and is working closely with TxDOT’s
Information Systems Division as they analyze and remedy the problems.
Unfortunately, we have also been hampered in our ability to quickly
notify you of these problems. While statewide broadcast messaging
capability is a feature of the current RTS operating system, it
currently has limitations on its use. We are now working with the vendor
to ensure that we have full messaging capability in the near future.
Once available, we can notify you and our regional offices of system
problems quickly and save you a phone call to the RTS Help Desk.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience you have experienced over the
last several weeks and appreciate your patience and understanding.
