Subject: Florida Vehicle Information Check (Flood Damage)

PURPOSE
To advise of an Internet link to the State of Florida’s online database of flood damaged vehicles on the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Web site.

DETAILS
TxDOT has provided an Internet link to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (HSMV) online vehicle information check for flood damaged vehicles. The State of Florida online vehicle check site allows referencing of flood damaged vehicles that have been issued a Florida Certificate of Title.

COUNTY ACTION
To accessing the Florida database from the TxDOT Web site, select "Automobiles" (on the left-hand column), click on "Flood Damaged Vehicles" from the drop down menu, and click on the specified link www6.hsmv.state.fl.us/rrdmvcheck/mvcheckinq.

DEPARTMENT ACTION
Austin Headquarter personnel accessing the Florida database should go to HSMV’s homepage at www.hsmv.state.fl.us. Then scroll down to "Motor Vehicles Information" and click on "Online Vehicle Check." All other personnel should follow the county process.

In some cases the Registration and Title Bulletins (RTB) contain attachments. If you require a copy of the original signed RTB and the attachments, please email your request with the RTB number to VTR Info Request/Open Records. Repeat requests are subject to charges in accordance with Open Record policies. A subscription service is also available for an annual fee of $250. Subscribers will automatically receive all RTB mailings as they are issued.
