PURPOSE
To inform you of the revision of the Out Of State
Identification Certificate, VI-30 form, issued by the Texas Department of
Public Safety (DPS), for out of state vehicle inspections.
DETAILS
DPS has revised its VI-30 form, adding a section entitled
"Individual Presenting Vehicle" so that the person obtaining a state inspection
may be identified on the form. Additionally, the part of the VI-30 form intended
to be retained by the vehicle owner is now labeled "CUSTOMER COPY". A
reproduction of the new VI-30 form is attached.
COUNTY ACTION
Any current versions of the Out of State Identification
Certificate, VI-30 form, may be accepted. Also, if the new "Individual
Presenting Vehicle" section is incomplete or incorrect on the newer version of
the form, this will not be grounds for rejection.

If you have any questions or need any additional information,
please contact your local Vehicle Titles and Registration Division Regional
