PURPOSE
This is to inform you of changes in appearance and distribution
of Title Application Receipts provided to owners and lienholders as a
result of Point of Sale Sticker Printing.
DETAILS
Implementation of POSSP has generated questions regarding the
printing and distribution of Title Application Receipts to owners and
lienholders. With POSSP, the first print copy (Attachment A) is the
receipt that holds the windshield and license plate validation sticker.
Subsequent receipts indicate a "Duplicate" watermark. As a result,
lienholders will now receive a Title Application Receipt with the
"Duplicate" watermark (Attachment B).
COUNTY ACTION
Upon conversion to POSSP, distribution of the Title Application
Receipts will be as follows:
- First print copy will now be delivered to the owner;
- Second print copy ("Duplicate" watermark) will now be
delivered to the lienholder;
- There is no change to the Third and Fourth print copy
distribution.
Until your office has been converted to POSSP, please continue to use
your current distribution procedures while on the current Registration
and Title System application.
A letter announcing these changes has been distributed to automobile
lenders statewide. In addition, you are encouraged to share the contents
of this RTB with local lenders as necessary.
