PURPOSE
To revise RTB #134-02, dated December 2, 2002, which provided a chart
showing financial responsibility requirements for all jurisdictions of
the United States and the District of Columbia.
DETAILS
The attached chart includes an alphabetical listing of each
jurisdiction, followed by each jurisdiction’s liability minimums for
financial responsibility. The first number is the bodily injury
liability amount for one person injured in an accident, the second
number is the bodily injury liability amount for all injuries in a
single accident, and the third number is the property damage liability
amount for a single accident.
The attached spreadsheet shows:
- Liability minimums (in thousands of dollars)
- "No-Fault Jurisdictions" (allowing a policy to pay for medical
bills for injuries sustained in an accident regardless of who caused
the accident)
This data is not maintained by the Texas Department of
Transportation. Sources for this financial information and future
