Seasonal Permit License Plate Processing Procedures Under
Point-of-Sale Sticker Printing (POSSP) |
PURPOSE
To provide interim processing procedures for combination vehicles
registered with Seasonal Permit license plates after implementation of
POSSP.
DETAILS
The interim processing procedures for combination vehicles
registered with Seasonal Permit license plates that were provided in RTB
#075-04 have been revised. The original procedures provided that
combination vehicles would operate temporarily with the Seasonal Permit
license plate and Form VTR-31-RTS; however, it has been brought to our
attention that these vehicles are being cited by law enforcement for not
having a visible month and year of expiration on the vehicle.
COUNTY ACTION
When processing Seasonal Agriculture Registration on a combination
vehicle, counties should use the following procedure:
- Issue a Seasonal Permit license plate (combination vehicles only)
- Issue a Temporary Registration Tag, VTR-24-SP, in lieu of a
Universal License Plate Sticker
- DO fax a copy of the Form VTR-31-RTS to the Special Plates
Branch (SPB) at (512) 467-5900
- DO NOT mail a hardcopy of the Form VTR-31-RTS to the
Vehicle Data Management Branch for a registration renewal,
replacement, or exchange on Seasonal Ag
- DO mail a hardcopy of all title application paperwork to
the Title Control Systems Branch
DEPARTMENT ACTION
The SPB will issue and mail a Windshield Sticker to the customer
address shown on the Form VTR-31-RTS faxed by the county.
