PURPOSE
To advise of acceptable affidavits for repossessed motor vehicles that are not submitted on prescribed departmental forms.

DETAILS
Effective immediately, an application for a certificate of title, by virtue of repossession, is not required to be supported by the departmental Form VTR-264, Affidavit for Repossessed Motor Vehicle. In lieu of the prescribed form, a customer may submit a document/form containing the same or similar pertinent information including notarization, as shown on Form VTR-264.

COUNTY ACTION
In lieu of the Form VTR-264, please begin accepting affidavits for repossessed motor vehicles submitted on a document/form containing the same or similar pertinent information including notarization.

DEPARTMENT ACTION
The Motor Vehicle Title Manual will be revised accordingly.
