This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state’s vehicle titling and registration process.

Subject:	Department of Public Safety (DPS) Forms VI-30 and VI-30-A, Identification Certificate for a Motor Vehicle Last Registered or Titled in Some Other State or Country

PURPOSE
To provide information regarding the vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection form issued at state certified inspection facilities.

DETAILS
Currently, there are two versions of this form in use, the VI-30 and VI-30-A (copies attached). The DPS intends to revise the current version of Form VI-30 and eliminate the Form VI-30-A. They will continue to use both forms until their current stock is depleted. DPS will advise us when the new VI-30 is available, and we will notify you in a subsequent Registration and Title Bulletin.

COUNTY ACTION
Effective immediately, please accept either form when processing title transactions requiring Identification Certificate Forms.

DEPARTMENT ACTION
When processing transactions, the Vehicle Titles and Registration Division (VTR) will continue to accept both forms.

The Motor Vehicle Title Manual will be revised accordingly and these forms will be referenced in the Figures Section.

If you require a copy of the original signed RTB and the attachments, please email your request with the RTB number to VTR Info Request/Open Records. Repeat requests are subject to charges in accordance with Open Record policies. A subscription service is also available for an annual fee of $250. Subscribers will automatically receive all RTB mailings as they are issued.
