These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state’s vehicle titling and registration process.

Registration and Title Bulletin #143-03

Date: December 8, 2003
To: All County Tax Assessor-Collectors
Subject: New specialty plates now available

PURPOSE
To provide you with a news release and information about the new specialty license plates available for Texas motorists.

DETAILS
There were several new specialty license plates approved during this year’s legislative session. We now have five of those plates available for the public to purchase.

Included with this RTB is a "shell" news release that you can customize and send to local media to let people know about the availability of the new plates. We plan to send a similar release to other media outlets through TxDOT’s district public information offices. If you would like a copy of this release by e-mail, please send a request to rpolson@dot.state.tx.us.

In the future, we will provide information about additional new specialty license plates as they become available. We will also distribute news releases on each plate for you to consider sending to local media. There are illustrations of the plates attached for your information.

VTR CONTACT PERSON(S)
If you have any questions, please contact your local Vehicle Titles and Registration Division (VTR) Regional Office or call Roger Polson, VTR Public Information Officer, at 512/302-2076. Thank you.

In some cases the Registration and Title Bulletins (RTB) contain attachments. If you require a copy of the original signed RTB and the attachments, please email your request with the RTB number to VTR Info Request/Open Records. Repeat requests are subject to charges in accordance with Open Record policies. A subscription service is also available for an annual fee of $250. Subscribers will automatically receive all RTB mailings as they are issued.
