This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state’s vehicle titling and registration process.

Subject:	List of Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Certified Mopeds

PURPOSE
To provide the latest DPS list of certified mopeds.

DETAILS
The DPS revised list of certified mopeds is attached for your future reference. This latest revision was completed in October 2003.

COUNTY ACTION
Vehicles included on the list must be registered with a Moped License Plate and an Application for Texas Certificate of Title (Form 130-U) must be filed by the applicant.

If the vehicle does not appear on the DPS list of certified mopeds, then the vehicle will be treated as a motorcycle for title and registration purposes. A Form 130-U must be filed by the applicant and the vehicle must be registered with a Motorcycle License Plate.
