Registration and Title Bulletin #131-03

Date: November 26, 2003
To: All County Tax Assessor-Collectors
Subject: License Plate of the Month/Ducks Unlimited License Plate

PURPOSE
To provide you with a news release and information about the Ducks Unlimited specialty license plate featured for the month of December.

DETAILS
During the month of December we are highlighting the Ducks Unlimited specialty license plate. Proceeds from the sale of this plate are used for waterfowl and wetlands conservation programs.

The Ducks Unlimited specialty license plate is available for motorists to purchase at anytime, regardless of when their vehicle registration expires. The plate is available for passenger cars and light trucks for $30 per year, in addition to regular registration fees. The Ducks Unlimited plate features a graphic design of a duck and the state of Texas with the words "Texas Ducks Unlimited" below the graphic. A graphic depiction of the plate is attached.

Also attached is a "shell" news release that you can customize and send to local media. We plan to send a similar release to the capitol press and other media outlets statewide. If you would like a copy of this release by e-mail, please send a request to Rpolson@dot.state.tx.us.
