Subject:	News release concerning new laws for accessible parking

PURPOSE
To provide a shell news release that outlines new laws passed by the 78^th Legislature relating to disabled parking spaces.

DETAILS
Three new laws were passed by the 78^th Legislature that increases the protection of accessible (disabled) parking spaces. This news release was developed in cooperation with the
Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities, who requested we issue this information through tax offices and other Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) channels. A copy of this news release will be distributed to TxDOT’s district public information offices. Feel free to modify this release to suit your needs and include additional quotes from your office if you feel that is appropriate.
