Subject:	Regarding Remittance of the $65 Rebuilt Salvage Fee

PURPOSE
To provide information regarding the remittance of the $65 Rebuilt Salvage Fees.

DETAILS
House Bill 3588, 78^th Legislative Session, 2003, provides for collection of a $65 Rebuilt Salvage Fee. This fee is collected at the time of application for title; however, the fee is not considered a title fee. Therefore, these fees are not available for deferment and must be sent to the department daily.

COUNTY ACTION
The $65 Rebuilt Salvage Fees collected should be submitted to the department using the same guidelines as any other fees remitted on a daily basis. Therefore, these fees should be remitted to the department within 48 hours of collection.
